"FINDING IAN is a compelling, emotional story which keeps the reader turning pages as they will be anxious to how Cameron is able to deal with a the question as to who will eventually take custody of Ian. ... I adored this story and its characters, especially Bryan and Ian. I enjoyed reading how, in finding Ian, Bryan finds himself as well. I've long been a fan of Stella Cameron's - through her category romances, historical romances, and romantic suspense novels - and can truthfully say FINDING IAN is my favorite." --Maudeen Wachsmith, Heart Rate Reviews

Cameron switches gears from her recent romantic suspense and focuses this compelling romance on family issues. When he was 21, Dr. Byron Frazer, now a famous family psychologist, gave his newborn son up for adoption after his wife died. Since then he has always kept track of his son via private investigators, and now Ian is orphaned and living with an elderly relative in Cornwall, England, far from his native Minnesota.

Byron decides to put his career on hiatus, to the consternation of his overbearing manager, and personally check up on the boy. While his manager frets about what will happen if the public finds out that an authority on family problems gave his own child up for adoption, Byron is only concerned about what is best for Ian. He rents a cottage nearby, and although he isn't sure this alien environment is best for his son, he finds himself falling for Jade Perron, the handywoman repairing the cottage in which he lives.

Byron not only finds his son, he also finds himself through his love for Jade and finally confronts his past. But when he decides to legally reclaim Ian, the whole town bands against him. Cameron's latest has all the touching elements of an Oprah show, with a tragic childhood, intense soul-searching, and romance worked in to appeal to a broad base of readers. --Booklist

Dr. Byron Frazer, famous behavioral psychologist, expert on the family and every woman's ideal man, has a secret. A son, thirteen now, who may--or may not--need him. When his wife Lori died, Byron could not face raising a child alone, so gave Ian up for adoption. Now Ian's adoptive parents are dead and he's been sent to England to live with his adoptive mother's relations. "There's nothing I won't do for you" is the promise Byron and Lori made one another. Maybe now is the time to fulfill that promise, do what is right, so Byron heads for Cornwall and, perhaps, a meeting with his son.

Jade Perron loves her hometown, but not her life there. She longs for a bit of excitement. Still, she is not really unhappy with her job as a painter/decorator. Her current job is the cottage Byron has rented. An unsatisfactory marriage ending in divorce has made Jade wary of men, so discovering the very attractive tenant of Ferryneath Cottage does not please her, yet she finds herself very drawn to him.

As Byron gets to know Ian and becomes involved in his life, he must decide if keeping him in ignorance of their relationship is the best thing for Ian. Though he doesn't appear happy, as Byron finds out more about the people Ian is living with, he discovers they do care deeply for him. Bryon's developing feelings for Jade and hers for him is also a complication he must deal with. What he doesn't expect is Jade's vehement opposition of his claim to Ian.

I must confess I have never read anything by Stella Cameron, but after reading "Finding Ian" I certainly shall. This is a wonderful story. I especially like that it centers mainly on the hero. I don't know how others will feel about Byron, but I was in complete sympathy with him. I found the way he handled things in the past and the current upheaval in his life understandable. The heroine, Jade, is also much to be admired. She handles her ex-husband competently and her wariness of Byron is quite believable. Her friend Shirley is an absolute hoot and you may find yourself wishing to adopt both Ian and Rose (Jade's ex-'s daughter) yourself. I consider this book one of my "rocking chair" books. There are emotional ups and downs, but they are handled so smoothly the story just draws you along. When you come to the end (which has a bit of a twist) you have the satisfaction of a story well told and yet the sadness that it is over. --Flora Mobley, Bookaholics.com
