Scene #95

Each day he drove himself to exhaustion hoping that once he closed his eyes he prayed that the dreams would not come but to no avail. But once again he awoke from the dream that haunted his nights. The dream never changed he was waking through the forest and there in the last rays of the day she stood looking to wards the sky as if she was expecting something or someone. And as if she knew he was there she turned and saw him she ran into his arms and held on to him as she was her salivation. Wrapping his arms around her he whispered her and it was at this point that he always awoke grasping for that name always just out of reach.

For now he would keeping going in the hopes that in the not distance future he would meet this mystery women.

For now he crouched in the darkness of the jungle low and listened to the night sounds surrounding him. He could not remember a time when he had not found the sounds comforting but that was not to be so this night. He could feel her out there in the shadows. He could sense her in the distance as if she was calling to him from a great distance. And so he waited and moved towards his prey hoping that in time there paths would cross. Miles away in a small town in North Dakota Maryann listen once again to her father and mother arguing, she knew that it was only a matter of time before the fighting started. Lately it had gotten worst with her father losing his job. He was drinking more these day and had struck her mother just yesterday. She knew that it was only a matter of time before he would also start on her and for that reason she knew she had to leave soon. It would be her only way out with her life.

Another scream brought her from her thoughts and this time a slap could be heard she could hear her mother weeping and knew she could not sit by and let him get a way with this again. Gathering her courage around like a mantle she opens the door and stood in the entrance to the living room. As her father lifted his hand once again to bring it down towards her mother she lunged forward but as she made contact with his arm she felt a bolt of energy run from her arm t his and she dropped her arm instantly and looked at her father. Her father backed away as if he didn't know her. Her father took one look at her and said two words “get out”

Turning around he left the room. She was not sure what had just happen but her concerns were for her mother she knelt on floor beside her and gathered her in her arms. Mother what is wrong, why is he so angry? I know that he is upset about his job but there is more jobs out there. He mother reach up and cupped her face, no child your father is not upset about that it is something else. They both got up and made their way to the sofa. Taking her hands in hers her mother looked at her daughter and knew that what she was about to tell her daughter would change her life.

I was only 17 years old her mother started I thought I knew the world. A friend I grew had move to South America and had asked me to come and stay with her for the summer break. My parents had some reservations but they knew her parents and felt I would be safe; I loved the place the rain forest the people. One day we had decided to go further inland it started to rain as if her mother was reliving the experience she got a far way look on her face. Maryann just stared at her wondering what she about to say, Mother she said what is it her mother looked back I am sorry I was lost in the past as I was saying it was raining and someone we got separated. I was not scared I knew that once she realized she would back track and find me. But as I got comfortable a man loomed over me. He looked like a god his legs were like tree trunks all muscle, and his skin was bronzed like copper. But I remember his eyes the most they were the deepest grey with a hint of yellow in them, nothing like I have ever seen before and then him reach down and took my hand and lifted me into his arms. Smiling at me he said in a low voice welcome “mi corazon” my heart”. I think it was just like that I fell in love with him. For the reminder of the summer I meet with him ever chance I had, we became lovers by the end of the summer I was pretty sure I was with child when I told him he was jubilant about becoming a father. He pleaded with to stay but I told him I had to at least let my parents know I was ok and what I planned to do, which was to move to South American. Three days before I was scheduled to leave we were wrapped in each other arms and he told me he was not what he appear to be that If I was seriously thinking of staying with him he need to be honest with me. His people were know as the Shadow Walkers they have walk the earth for hundreds of years they are also able to shift to any beats that forms the earth. After I heard that I was afraid for myself and my unborn child. He went on to say that a child born of such a union may show signs that they are one by emitting small changes in the electrical currents around them. Maryann looked at her mother and she knew without her telling her that she was one of them that her life was changing and possible not for the better. Your father is still out there in the jungle waiting for me to come back, but I can't live like that. You must go and find him learn who and what you are.
