Scene #94
Dreams can be perceived as brightly vivid, nondescript, and very
real. Dreams can come true. It is the time when one is awakening
from a deep slumber back into one's mundane world. Dreams
may or may not have any substantial meaning. Some people dream in
technicolor and others in black and white. Who knows what the
significance is to this phenomenon. There are those who believe
dreaming in technicolor makes the person psychic. Many
mystics claim dreams are a window into your soul. Some
psychologists claim it is nothing but stress in the brain waves.
Other therapists treat dreams as though the person has a troubled
mind needing nurturing and understanding. Dream analysts come
up with grandiose theories and unexplanable thoughts. The dream
phenomenon is yet to be perceived and understood. Years of
training can not fully come up with any answers to the very soul of
the dream process. I have had many dreams, usually in
technicolor, throughout my life. Some joyful ones were interrupted
by either the telephone or alarm clock ringing. Once awake, it is
impossible to go back to the euphoric state of a dream interrupted.
I find myself cursing the universe for not fulfilling my lost
ecstasy. Other dreams can be quite chilling and full of terror and
remorse. I find myself jerking awake to run away from this
terrible threat. I find myself quickly pulling my bed clothes over
my head, hiding from who knows what. I am certain I have been
terrorized by a dream, only a dream. I had the same dream
every night for several months. I would be in bed sleeping. Each
morning I would be half asleep, and see and hear people at a
cocktail party. I found myself looking around, semi awake,
watching the party from afar. I could see all the colors of their
elegant clothing and hear the voices speaking in another tongue.
Yet, I could understand every word spoken. The dreams
continued as the Christmas season arrived. I was busy Christmas
shopping and was distracted from the nightly intrusions into my
life. I knew in the back of my mind, I was forever wondering why
the same dream seemed to haunt me each night. On Christmas
Eve, I was suddenly invited by a friend to attend a gala party at a
nearby hotel. Sheila's husband had been sent to Germany, on a
business trip, and she wanted me to go to the party in his stead.
I reluctantly agreed saying I had nothing appropriate to wear. As
the time neared to attend the party, I became more and more
apprehensive. When Sheila rang my doorbell, all my fearful
thoughts disappeared. We arrived at the Westin Hotel and
rushed up to the ballroom. As we entered, I stopped dead in my
tracks, and could not believe what was unfolding before me. We had
come to a cocktail party already in full force. The people around
the room were speaking in another language which I seemed to
understand. These were the same people who had entered my dreams
for over one month. I was fully able to comprehend their foreign
tongue, yet, I had no formal education in this language. Some
may say I had just experienced a paranormal unexplanable situation.
Others may say I knew this foreign language from a past life.
Others may say I stepped into another world and learned this
foreign tongue while I was asleep dreaming. There is no rational
explanation to what had just happened. This act had me enthralled
and believing in the paranormal. Who can explain? One has to only
wonder. We have many more frontiers to open before we can
completely understand what this entire universe holds for all of us
non-believers and believers. Perhaps, this is a religious
entity. You readers can make up your own minds and delve in your
own delibrations as to what you may think just happened.
