2007 Scarlet Boa

    Scene #45

Do you ever get that hair standing up on the back of your neck feeling? You know the one, it’s the same thing that makes you look over your shoulder every few feet because you think someone is behind you, or when you jump at a shadow that you're pretty sure is moving and shouldn't be. Yeah, that’s the one. I have that feeling at least once a day, maybe because of what I am. You see, I'm a Searcher. There aren't many of us, most people will never have heard of us, but there you go. Back when I was a "norm" short for someone who walked through life with their head up their butt thinking that we "humans" were the only intelligent life on earth. Ha! What a crock of crap. Well, I can't lie and say I wouldn’t love to go back to being a norm. I mean seriously, who wants to spend their whole damn life looking over their shoulder to see what "creature out of your worst nightmare" is lurking over your shoulder.

Ok, I digress. The real reason I'm pissed is because I find myself in a sort of a... hmmm....well a situation. Yeah, that’s it, a situation. What the hell else am I supposed to call it when I find myself attracted to a card carrying, fur wearing, fang sporting werewolf. That’s right, a werewolf. Well you can smirk all you want, I can feel it coming through loud and clear, but it’s the truth damn it. A freaking werewolf, shit. I should have just taken a silver bullet, loaded my gun and shot my damn self and got it over with. Because, boys and girls, when my boss finds out what I've done he will shoot me himself.

The sound of a throat clearing scared the crap out of me, so much I nearly fell off my office chair. Yeah, yeah, I know. If I would just get the legs fixed it wouldn't wobble so much, ergo I wouldn't almost fall over every time someone or something scared me. Any way, speak of the devil...

"You know, if you keep scowling like that your face will freeze. At least that’s the rumor going around." The sneaky devil leaned down and rubbed his fingers lightly across one of the many new frown lines I was developing. He followed it with a soft kiss. Now I ask you, how can you get mad at a guy who is that sweet? Easy. "You're not supposed to be here damn it! If Ranger finds out you're still here it will be both of our asses in that small sling! Now, get out." I tried to push him off, but he wasn't moving. He must weigh a lot more than he looks like, because trust me, I've seen him bare assed naked and he doesn't have one spare ounce of fat.
