"I'm surprised, didn't really think you sissy Riders had any balls to begin with, ah well, shall we continue the dance." Berith hauled Kit back up on his feet and without any effort; he threw the wizard back down the hallway. As soon as Kit's body hit the floor, he rolled over on his hands and knees and began crawling towards the room at the end of the hall. Never being one to use his fists for solving problems with dangerous demons that by the way were three times as strong as a human. Kit desperately tried to clear his brain of pain, pushing the fog away to come up with a plan for a counter attack before Berith beat him to death. Thus ending all the problems in Kit's life.
Laughing, Berith took his time following. "I have waited so long for this moment." Words couldn't begin to express the exhilaration he felt as he watched with shining dark eyes how the wizard struggled to crawl away. "Kristian Conway, crawling away from me in defeat! As the angels say, Halleujah!"
Kit kept crawling, his eyes taking in every detail of the room. The pain was ebbing away enough; his eyes were no longer crossed. And thank the goddess, there it was, his life-saving answer. In order to live through this spell so much depended on luck, on things being there in the right place for him to use. All Kit needed to do was use the knowledge he knew, along with a lot of common sense thrown in.
In slow motion Kit bumped his head against the sliding doors of a closet. Forcing himself to ignore the fire burning in his balls, he turned and leaned back. Then he slowly stood, more like sliding upward. With head bent and arms wrapped around his waist, Kit waited.
"Pitiful but hell, you've never looked better Conway." Berith pulled his right arm back, fist clenched, a smile on his face as he got ready to punch the wizard. "You'll look so much better with a broken nose, trust me."
A split second before the demon's fist connected with his nose, Kit spun away. The closet door seemed to slide open on its own as Kit used Berith's own speed and strength against him. Off-balanced and shocked by the rapid movements of the supposedly disabled wizard, Berith suddenly found himself shoved into the closet, the door sliding close and Kit chanting numbers. The demon's head smacked solidly against the back wall and tiny black dots shimmered before his eyes.
"To lock one's enemy brings one and one and one and one together." Kit ran his forefinger across the center where the sliding doors crossed. As he chanted, a silver line extended from his fingertip. He quickly began tracing a magic square. "All energy is one. Energy is everything. Air becomes energy and space. I can and will command all." Now his finger tip made sections inside the magic square.
