    Scene #31

    Revelation

Amanda glanced around the crowded floor of Calypso’s looking for the man who had requested this meeting. She was desperate enough to find Susan’s killer to follow any leads she could. Klyve Barrows was definitely a lead, and a good one.

Amanda spotted her query at a table and started toward the back of the dance floor. Klyve seemed to see her at the same time and stood to greet her.

‘Thank You for seeing me. I know you are grieving but I had heard that you were looking into your friends death. I thought I could shed some light on the subject’.

‘Nice to see you again Mr. Barrows. Anything you could tell me would be greatly appreciated'.

‘As you know I had been seeing Susan for about a month now. I was devastated at her death and keep going over our time together in case I missed something. The last time we were here at Calypso’s we went out back to the alley. I went and searched there a few days ago and there’s something out back that I think you might be interested in, if you wouldn't mind following me’.

Klyve started toward the alley door and she followed behind, trying to stay aware of everything. Clay had just walked into the bar and immediately noted Amanda and where she was headed, and with whom. He quickly joined her and Amanda felt a big relief.

Klyve turned around in the alley and the light must have been shining somewhere as his eyes had picked up a red glow from somewhere. ‘Come here Amanda, and let me show you what I think happened to your friend. I think it will leave no doubt in your mind about the circumstances of her death’.

‘I will stay right here and you can tell me what you have to say’, she said very warily now.

‘How much do you know about your boyfriend’, Klyve asked a bit nastily as he glanced at Clay. ‘Because if you really know him then what I am going to show you, or do to you to be more accurate, will come as no shock'.

Amanda must have had a blank look as Klyve sort of snorted and asked her, ‘Do you believe in vampires, by any chance, Amanda?’ He then stepped in the light and she saw what she hadn't seen in the dark. There seemed to be fangs in his mouth and his eyes still glowed bright red.

Clay stepped in front of Amanda. ‘There is no way I would let you touch Amanda, Klyve’.

‘She followed me of her own free will. I am only going to show her what she wanted to know. Amanda doesn't even know what you are, does she?’ Klyve jeered.

Amanda looked at Clay and asked, ‘What is he talking about Clay?’

‘What do you think my dear,’ Klyve taunted her. ‘Your boyfriend is another vampire, just like me’.
