2007 Scarlet Boa

    Scene #28

Lucie couldn't shake the feeling someone was following her and had been since the previous night. Though she caught nothing more than a slight flicker of movement behind her, the tingling on the back of her neck just didn't sit well.

Last night in her apartment bedroom had been the worst, or the best depending on your viewpoint. She had no sooner lain down in bed than a gentle movement brushed her breasts. The touch was so light; she chalked it up to her imagination. But even the most vivid of fantasies could not imagine about what came next. A complete assault on her senses and body, as lovely light strokes smoothed over her shoulders, breasts and thighs. She had watched in shock as the hem of her oversized men’s t-shirt lifted seemingly of its own volition. Her thighs were spread and held gently but firmly by what felt like strong men’s hands. "Who?" and "How?" and "What" got lost as the pleasure of warm pressure filled and caressed her core. Normally Lucie needed batteries to gain a fraction of that kind of pleasure.

In the morning Lucie looked to her nightstand to check the warning label on her prescription migraine medication. No hallucinogenic effects were listed, but surely she imagined the pomegranate resting on her nightstand. No, she had not. Luscious and red, she was not even sure it was in season, but the juicy, tart seeds made a tasty addition to her breakfast.

Craving more of the delicious fruit she headed to the local market’s produce section when the nagging sensation she was being followed caught her. She paused in front of the apples disappointed they were not what she was seeking, but she hoped to catch a glimpse of her stalker. She waited with her head bent examining apples, but her eyes glanced to either side of her.

Yet Lucie was startled when she felt the air next to her change as though a storm was about to blow through the market. A large man appeared in the space at her side. He was gorgeous. The words ‘Greek’ and ‘God’ came to mind. He held a strange helmet in his hands. She wondered for a wild second if he was coming from a Medieval Fair and was about to ask when he spoke.

"You will not find what you seek here," he intonated in a deep voice. "If you will follow me, I have more of what you so deeply crave."

Lucie looked up at his expressive eyes that held a thousand lifetimes of knowledge in them then back down to the helmet in his perfectly hewn hands. Understanding dawned. It was Hades, Ruler of the Underworld, keeper of the keys to Heaven and Hell.

She shook her head sadly; the good ones always had wives.
